Extrapharma has been audited by QUAMED and Relief International Organization on 25th March 2023.
A recent technical assessment conducted by QUAMED and Relief International confirmed that Extrapharma, a leading importer and distributor of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies in Yemen, has achieved a good level of compliance with international Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
The evaluation, based on a single technical site visit, aimed to review the company’s adherence to internationally accepted standards for the proper storage and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
According to the technical report issued following the visit, Extrapharma, established in 2010 and headquartered in Sana’a, operates with a comprehensive quality management system and holds the ISO 9001 certification from TÜV Austria, demonstrating a strong commitment to quality and regulatory compliance.
The company currently employs 30 staff members and sources pharmaceutical products primarily from reputable international manufacturers, with limited procurement from local wholesalers. Extrapharma is also the official distributor for 3M Healthcare in Yemen.

The company’s central warehouse, with a surface area of approximately 400 square meters, is equipped with:

Extrapharma also utilizes an advanced computerized inventory system that records and tracks batch numbers and expiry dates, ensuring full traceability throughout the supply chain, under the responsibility of qualified supply service providers.
The report noted that the warehouse is currently operating below its full storage capacity, allowing for increased operational scalability without compromising product quality or safety.
